I remenber the gas tanks at the sawmill….Grogan Cochran Lumber Co., Magnolia, Texas. They had “glass tops” and the person waiting on you would have to pump the gas from somewhere ??? underground pumps or something. The gas would go into the glass tops and then they would pump it into the gas tank of your vehicle. This was in the 50’s. Don’t remember the price of gas. But you would get your windshield washed and the inside of your vehicle swept out. And if a young girl was in love with the young guy pumping the gasoline,, it would take a long time to do all of this as they talked a bunch and maybe evenn stole a kiss if no one was around.
