Friday, March 11, 2016 – The Rains Continue to Fall and BTHO FLORIDA

Our Friday posting is brought to you today by the word – psittacism. It is a noun meaning mechanical, repetitive, and meaningless speech. It is pronounced Sit-uh-siz-uh m.

The “P” is silent as in pneumonia and swimming. Psittacism comes from the Latin word for “parrot” – psittacus. It became part of the English language in the late 1800’s.

Today is most commonly used to refer to people running for President of the United States, all sports announcers and all people who you could piss off by call them a “psittacite” plus any others trying to converse with you with mechanical, repetitive and meaningless speech.

Happy Friday. Stay Dry. And to the Fighting Texas Aggie Men’s Basketball Team – SEC Conference Champions (first conference championship in 30 years) – as you begin play in the SEC Tournament …

BTHO – FLORIDA!
