Thursday, March 29, 2018 – Holy Thursday
Today is the Thursday before Good Friday. On this day, Jesus and his disciplines went to The Cenacle. It is known as the “Upper Room” and is located in David’s Tomb Compound in Jerusalem. Traditionally this is the site where The Last Supper was held.
Here they had a nice spread with cheese, maybe a nice brisket or some smoked fish. They shared some outstanding bread and toasted with a fine wine. You wouldn’t have cheap wine with Jesus, would you?
They all prayed and prepared for the next few days which were not going to be pleasant. They knew it would be their Last Supper. Today, the ritual of the Last Supper is celebrated in many Christian churches. Some faiths celebrate symbolically while others transubstantiate. Google it.
Leonardo Di Vinci painted a picture, again appropriately called, The Last Supper. It was the Instagram of the day.
